At The Table

Dear Friends,

“At my table a hundred and
fifty people, leaders and counselors were seated besides those who come to us
from neighboring nations.”  Nehemiah 5:17

Who is seated at Goodcity’s table and whose table have we
been invited to join?  What sorts of
conversations are taking place there? 
What do we do once we leave the table?

Today I’d like to share with you about some of those with
whom Goodcity has been sharing a table recently, and provide you an update on
what we’ve accomplished after the meal has been cleared.

In a program designed to take illegal weapons off the
streets of Chicago, Goodcity helped partner with
the City of Chicago
in promoting an event resulting in the removal of 3,874 guns from our
communities.  We also were a proud
participant in the Chicago National Day of Prayer Breakfast, where 101
community-based programs were acknowledged and uplifted in prayer at the Blessing the City Event.  I am proud to report that 42 of those
programs had their genesis with Goodcity!

We are currently at the table with The Advocate Bethany
Hospital Community Health Fund, which has contracted with Goodcity to build the
capacity of ten of its grantees.  Gladys
B. Simpson, founder and Chief Administrator of the Academy
of Scholastic Achievement and one of
the grantees, commented “Goodcity has a positive longstanding track record of
excellence in Chicago,
and with their help, ASA will continue to move forward.”

As a stalwart Goodcity supporter, you, too, have been with
us at the table, playing a critical role in helping us achieve our vital
mission through your donations, prayers and moral support.  As our city, state and nation collectively
face what appears to be a protracted period of economic instability, we hope we
can count on your continued support and fellowship with Goodcity, enabling us
to partake together in a meal that will help nourish and sustain our spirits
and our communities.

end of our fiscal year on June 30, 2010, and the needs of our partners are
